Introducing: J And Company Preview F/W 2012
I just kinda "stumbled" over this amazing brand the other day, while I was checking out what's new at the NY ENK tunnel show. What stopped me in my tracks was the way J and Company was displaying their clothes all over their quite expansive space. Instead of just hanging them on the racks, the sales people went and dressed the clothes, they laid them down on the floor and tables to show how to mix and match them.
The designers and the sales team were talking passionately to the customers and were absolutely convinced of their beautiful collection. And rightly so. As they were so busy, I didn't have the chance to ask many question. Let me just tell you for now, that this brand is showing its first ever collection for F/W 2012. It is a collaboration between a French and a Chinese designer. And, I am telling you, we are in for a treat. The lookbook is in the making and should be up here within a month.

Oh Vanessa, you may not have Johnny Depp but you still have your red hot looks and style. What's not to like about J Brand's red coated skinnies with maitre d's jacket, kohl lined eyes and bed hair?
J Brand's Jodhpur looks amazing on everyone and I especially love seeing it on a curvy girl like Maria Menounos. The shoes aren't fighting with the pop of colour on top and I love the statement necklace. The hair could be heading towards uptown girl but the big smile and confident stride makes me love the whole look.
I have that Alexander Wang handbag! I knew I liked Miranda Kerr. High rise skinny jeans - love them! Miranda shows us how you just can't go wrong with this style. I love the jacket, scarf, sunglasses and boots with it, she's ticked every accessory box for me.
The best thing about Nicky Hilton's outfit are her boots. I love them! Nondescript skinny jeans but with those legs she could be wearing anything and I'd love it. Cute shoulder bag too, which makes me forgive the slightly off jumper.
Floral jeans are a huge trend and the accessories Jenna's selected are perfect. The black hat band is key - it pulls the whole look together and stops it from being too muted. Very nice!

Susan Style - J Brand Milla Skinny Jeans
Hello Denimology friends! With all of the new patterned denim out this season, I decided to try my first pair taking a safer route. I wanted to start with a pair that's more subtle. These are J Brand's brand new Milla Skinnies. Being that this is my first pair of patterned denim this season, I haven't quite placed an opinion about the trend yet. But after trying this pair, my interest has been sparked. What caught my attention about this particular pair is the wash.
The color is called Mahogany, which is a mix between purple and burgundy. I love the color on these. There's a plaid pattern on the front and back in a faded black color. I like that the plaid is more subtle and not very loud and obvious. The outer side legs have a panel that is without the plaid pattern, giving a slimming effect to the legs.
The fit on these is amazing. Made of 98% cotton and 2% lycra, these are made of a very soft and stretchy Japanese twill material. They feel as if they've already been worn in. The amount of stretch in the material adds to the comfort of these jeans with a very flattering body hugging effect. I'd say these run true to size. The rise is 7 ½ inches, and inseam is 27 inches. These feel a bit more cropped than most other skinny jeans that I've tried, which is great for showcasing a great pair of shoes. Although the leg opening is only 9 inches, the amount of stretch in the material allows for an easier squeeze when putting these on. (Keep in mind that measurements may vary slightly with different sizes.)
The front pockets are slit pockets with silver zippers. The rear also has slit pockets, which I'm normally not a huge fan of. But J Brand has created these in a way to still give a flattering fit on the rear. The waist band doesn't have any belt loops, which made me realize how dependent I am on them when pulling up my jeans (which I actually don't advise).
The washing instruction are: Wash in cold water with like colors, do not bleach, tumble dry low, remove promptly, warm iron if needed. From my experience with some of J Brand's other Japanese twill pants, the color tends to fade noticeably with each wash. So be mindful of which detergent you use when washing these, and be sure to use a very low heat when drying them.

!tem S/S 2012 Women's Lookbook
! was invited to go to !tem's Spring/Summer 2011 launch party at the Ace Hotel in NYC. !t was an intimate happening with only a few selected guests, and ! was one of them. VIP treatment all the way, delicious food, champagne, wine, my beloved diet cokes (! am an addict!) and ! got to meet the brand's CEO, Kimmy. What an amazing lady. She explained to me that !tem is a "fashion forward" brand, meaning that whatever they are showing now, will be considered "fashion" in a year or so more ahead.
Check out their complete orange and royal blue looks. And what's so cool about their jeans was that they are not skinny-skinny, but slouchy-skinny, so much more edgy. ! have always favored this style because it is so much more comfortable than those extreme skinny jeans where taking a simple breath is an adventure!
