This week's Designer Q&A is with David Lim, Designer of Kasil Jeans.

1) Why do you think after 200 years jeans are still one of the most popular items of clothing.

Jeans are a part of American history, since the days of the coal miners to the runways. It’s a classic that will remain a part of our history and future.

2) Last time I counted there were over 50 brands of premium denim jeans, what makes your jeans stand out from the rest.
True, maybe by the time I finish writing this sentence another denim brand will be born. What seems to be happening now is brands are trying to out do each other with bells and whistles to draw attention to their product. We really stand behind the quality and the details we put into our jeans. Our jeans are more subtle when it comes to the details, and that is what we have become known for.

3) Who do you imagine is your typical customer.
Someone who understands premium quality and appreciates a great fit. We are not looking for the customer to buy jeans for the name; we want the ones that pay attention to the product.

4) Which style and wash of your jeans are flying out of the shops the quickest at the moment?

For our womens line, the boot cut is still our strongest style. That style will always be a favorite for women because the fit is very flattering and perfect for every body type. For mens, our straight cut has become one of our most popular styles, but the boot cut is still up there as well.

5) Are there any essential jeans that everyone should have in their wardrobe.
Boot cut & straight cut. If your looking for our jeans its our Devoted-boot / Devious-straight. Womens. As for our mens, any of our straight cuts offer a great fit with subtle details and unique washes that set them apart from any other jeans.

9) How many pairs of jeans do you currently own and which are your favourites?

I own too many to count.

10) Are you a "wash your jeans after each wear" person or a "wear your jeans for six months before you wash them" person?
Haha! Ok, I’m a 1 month then wash person. I usually rotate my jeans around, so it’s not as bad as it sounds.

11) Do you own jeans for different occasions (for instance I have work jeans, smart jeans, weekend jeans, holiday jeans, jeans for going to concerts in, jeans for gardening in) if so what have you got?
These questions are great! I usually have jeans for my moods; Angry, happy, sad and crazy.

12) Which is your favourite jeans shop?
I usually don’t go shopping for jeans anymore, but I just recently went to Kitsons were they carry our line so I like Kitsons.
