Here is a continuation of our newest feature interviewing denim aficionados, this time our guest in the hot seat is Cecilia Doan who has her own blog called, 'Love, Portland'.

1) How would you describe your denim style?

Denim is my style! I incorporate denim into most of my outfits. I've got everything from denim shorts to denim dresses, denim vests, and denim shoes.

2) What do you look for in a pair of jeans?

The most important thing I look for in a pair of jeans is a flattering fit. I pay attention to the material composition as this seems to affect how they'll sit on my body or how they'll eventually wear. Back pocket placement, amazing lines (what makes your legs look 100 miles long), and if there is distressing done if they're hitting the right places: honeycombs behind the knees and not on my calves, sandblasting on the thighs highlight just enough and not too much, etc.

3) Who are your top 3 favorite brands and why?

I like Nudie for their "casual cool" look, PRPS for their washes (and how they look on guys), and Miss SIxty (above) for coming out with fun styles and cuts that have random attachments and distressing.

4) How many pairs of jeans do you own and what is the most you have paid for a pair?

About 25 pairs. I've paid a little over $200 for a pair of Nudies in Super Slim Kim. The most expensive pair I have is $350 retail, a pair I got when my sister-in-law and I did a denim swap!

5) What are the first pair of jeans you remember?

I remember wearing straight-legged Lee flooders while growing up ... literally, growing!

6) What are your favourite pair of jeans and why?

I try not to pick favorites, but I'm dying to wear my super light washed, lightweight, and wide-legged Anlo jeans with some strappy heels when the weather warms up!

7) What are the next pair of jeans you are going to buy?

$1000+ Balmain jeans, right? No. Most likely a pair of bell bottoms or flares at a vintage shop, when I find them!

8) Which is your favourite jeans shop?

I've gotten some of my favorite Nudie jeans and a particular body-con Proportion of Blu denim dress( at a boutique in Portland called Local35. Another boutique, Blake, has a good selection for men and the people there are always sooo nice and easy to talk to. The owner KNOWS denim. They just recently got in denim boxers by Kicking Mule ... for the true denim aficionado!

9) What is the worst denim crime?

Not zipping your fly.

10) Who's denim style inspires you the most?

The groups of young foreign exchange students from Asia walking around or shopping downtown in jeans and unique clothing I've never seen before.

11) If you could design your own jeans what would you do differently?

Have them all give me a nice, perky behind! Especially the high waisted jeans that often give you long butt/mom butt.

12) And finally, any predictions for denim trends in 2009...

Bodysuits and lightweight jumpsuits in addition to denim on denim!
