Last night New York's Times Square served as host for much anticipated launch of the OBEY x Levi's capsule collection with a live mural construction and installation by OBEY including founder Shepard Fairery.

Beginning at 7pm hundreds of fans and passersby gathered in the center of Times Square in front of the Levi's store to witness acclaimed artist, Shepard Fairery create one of his iconic murals layering imagery addressing everything from global warming to political propaganda. Fairery, who recently reached mainstream appeal with his OBEY image of President Barack Obama, has now rocketed into commercial appeal as proven by the die-hard OBEY onlooker who offered $30,000 to purchase the entire 7.5' x 24' mural for a private collection.

Commemorating the collaboration, Fairery released four new poster designs and graciously signed them at the store following the installation. Of course, some in the audience couldn't bear to wait for the signing and asked Fairery, while constructing the mural with his team, to pose for photos and sign everything from t-shirts, stickers, and even a poster for a baby's nursery. He graciously accepted and thanked his fans by distributing stickers and remnants of the mural construction materials to the crowd.

The OBEY x Levi's collection is available starting today exclusively at Levi's stores in New York, San Francisco, Chicago and Santa Monica. Levi.com and ObeyClothing.com will also host the collection which retails at a very accessible $34.50-$148. As for the mural, better act fast, it will only last until November 5 before it is dismantled and taken down from public view.
