G-Star Raw S/S 2011: Behind The Scenes - Follow Up
So you have seen my behind the scenes, candid shots from the G-Star fashion show. Now, just a few thoughts from the show itself. When I saw this outfit, my initial reaction was - "YESSS, no more jeggings!" I love drop crotch jeans and these ones combine the dropcrotch look with a skinny leg and higher waist. You can pair them with high heels or tuck them into your boots. But I would seriously suggest that you wear something underneath the blazer, because unless you are on a catwalk, real life wants you somewhat covered up!
As you may already have read a lot about G-Star's aviator trend prediction, let me just mention two more looks that caught my attention: The slight touch of pink in the model's sheer chiffon pants - again, you'd better cover your butt there by using a long overcoat or shirt! And the men's very baggy drop crotch pants were repeated in many different colors and materials during the show, in combination with a body-tight leather jacket. Perfect proportions. Fannypacks are making their big comeback with the models wearing them in canvas and leather versions on the catwalk.
About the men's collection, in addition to the desert style jackets, there was also a certain touch of Mao Tse-tung in the air, in the form of stark, fierce-looking men's jackets.
The only thing I didn't like about this SS11 show was that I'm going to have to wait until spring before getting to wear those fabulous clothes!
