Baldwin Denim - Raw Denim For Men & Women
Baldwin Denim is a new jeans label for men and women that was launched late last year by the people behind Standard Style Boutique in Kansas. Their first collection focuses on the core styles of straight and slim/skinny jeans, all of which are made from raw denim that either comes from Cone Mils' famous White Oak Plant in the USA or Kaihara Mill in Japan. It's a philanthropic partnership in blue jean heaven. The Gap has partnered with Cotton Inc on a program that converts denim into UltraTouchTM Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation, then donates it to communities in distress! Since starting the denim initiative four years ago, Cotton Inc. has recycled enough denim to insullate over 540 homes!
The mass retailer is asking people to drop off their old denim skirts, jeans and shorts to any Gap, BabyGap or GapKids store between now and March 14 as part of the "Cotton. From Blue to Green" denim drive. Any one who donates will receive a 30% discount on one new pair of jeans (i.e. check out the 1969 collection jeans!!)
Cult Of Individuality Launch Women's Collection
Men's jeans brand Cult Of Individuality have decided that it's time to give the ladies a piece of their denim action with the launch of their first women's collection. Their debut styles cover all the usual suspects (bootcut, straight leg, skinny, jegging and boyfriend) and will retail for $100 - 135 when they hit the stores in July.
