Victoria's Secret models Doutzen Kroes and Abbey Lee Kershaw spent the day posing on the beach in St. Barth for a photoshoot for the new Victoria's Secret catalog. Yes. Lingerie models were shooting for a lingerie catalog in denim of all sorts-- shorts, skirts and jeans! It's plum crazy what lingerie modeling has come to huh?
Express Fall 2009 Ad Campaign
When I'm in a mall (which isn't often enclosed shopping structures sort of freak me out) I pass by Express stores and never venture in. Not to be a designer denim snob, I just don't feel like the stores are catering to my sensibility. I have to say, I stopped and took notice with their latest ad campaign for Fall 2009. Whether or not the clothes hold up to the photographs, I'll have to see next time I'm at a mall, but I will give them praise for marketing this collection very well.

Sophie Srej in Denim for Marie Claire Italy
David Bellemère is a photographer who harmoniously blends fashion to nature. For Marie Claire's September issue, he put together an out-doorsy-70's-vibe kind of shoot titled, I Love Freedom. The layout stars model Sophie Srej enjoying the sunshine while wearing retro type inspired attire. Sophie wears Crystal Denim Shorts, a Diesel Denim Vest, Miss Sixty Shorts, Angelo Marani jeans that were tie-dyed by hand and then embellished with brocade and sequins, J Brand/Hussein Chalayan Denim Leggings and Levi's Multi-Pocket Denim Shorts for the editorial.
Superfine in Black, White & Denim
As I was exploring through Superfine's website, I found an au naturel, black and white gallery containing a multitude of models, musician and thespians alike in their Superfine Jeans. The gallery is a collaboration between Superfine co-owner, Lucy Pinter and her husband, photographer Jan Weltersan. The stunning pics have been accumulating since 2003.
The famous muses are shot as themselves, with little direction since there is no story. The project started with a simple image of a girl in nothing but her Superfine's and became ongoing. The collection holds many highly famed models posing in their Superfine jeans. The idea is that this will one day be a book and an exhibition. I hope that holds true! I would adore a coffee table book of Superfine's Black White & Denim celebrity collection.
The list of celebrity subjects photographed is vast too! Among the monochrome shots are musician Courtney Love, actress Sienna Miller and French singer-actress Joana Preiss along with an abundance of the fashion world's most sought-after models.
