Today I'm reviewing the Skinny Ankle Jean in "Neon Snake" by Joe's Jeans. I have to start off my saying this is my first Joe's Jeans review on Denimology - and I really could not wait to review a pair of Joe's because they are one of my all-time fave denim brands (my hubby's fave as well)! The fit is always spot on, and the denim is high quality.
This is also my first pair of printed denim by Joe's Jeans and I have to say I'm smitten with this "Neon Snake" print. I love the lighter wash of these jeans - making them really easy to style with just about any top or shoe. I went with a nude cage heel because I love pairing a nude shoe with lighter denim. It always helps to elongate the leg. The pastel-colored tie-dye effect is super cool. It's a mix of light pink, deep and light purple, as well as blue and a pretty sea green.
These jeans are bleached and stone-washed, which gives the print a natural looking fade so it's not too bold. The look and feel of these jeans is vintage-inspired, yet the 28" ankle-length inseam gives them a modern look. I've said it plenty of times in my denim reviews, but I love a skinny jean that hits right at the ankle. I think it really ups the chic factor - especially when the jeans are worn with heels.
The fit of these jeans is super skinny, but since the jeans contain super-stretch denim they are incredibly comfy and move with you. The denim contours to your body and flatters every curve. The denim is comprised of 54% cotton, 43% tencel, and 3% spandex. I typically wear a size 28 in Joe's Jeans, and that's exactly what I'm wearing in this style. I would recommend sizing up in Joe's Jeans though because they do run small. I can wear a size 27 in other brands, but always a 28 in Joe's.
I highly recommend these jeans. I loved the fit and the colorful print is so fun for summer. Joe's Jeans even has a great moto jacket in the same tie-dye print!

Come on, Katie Holmes :-( whatever has happened to your sense of style lately? Really, this double denim look is totally off. Not only do the jeans and the jacket so totally clash, but that grandma shirt in red and white really doesn't help to make this outfit look any better.
When doing double denim, you are supposed to choose either totally opposite washes, like dark and bleached, or black and light blue. Or you can even do the same wash, but then it has to be exactly the same wash on both denim pieces, and not more or less the same wash.

Miley Cyrus attended the Myspace launch party in a pair of sweatpant-jeans by Ashish. These jeans are really different and look insanely hot on Miley, but I would not recommend them if you have short legs! She paired them with a T - by Alexander Wang leather bra-top, Louboutin pumps and a Chanel leather tote. Later on the same day she was snapped while doing an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live going in the same jeans with a cropped Channing tummy-baring tee.

Emma Roberts has been snapped several times now in her Topshop Moto black rip knee Jamie jeans and I can't blame her for it. These jeans are not only cool, but also very reasonably priced, $80, at a time, when you can't find premium denim for less than $180. Her cropped blue motorcycle jacket rocks. It's the perfect way out if you want to wear your leather even in spring time. This shade of blue really makes me feel like summer, think blue blue sky....SIGH! I am almost forgetting what a summer sky looks like here in drab NYC. :-(

Just recently, when I was working on my post about the James Jeans S/S 13 collection, this one pair of jeans just "grabbed" me - instant lust! Me, who is always, always looking for different skinny jeans that don't bore me to death and who feels like: "vive la difference" - I found these incredibly edgy and unusual jeans, the Twiggy Thigh High. I don't have to point out that the fit is impeccable (everybody that has tried on a pair of the Twiggy already knows that - just think back pockets that enhance your butt!), and the idea of mixing blue denim with black twill is an amazingly different approach. AND then they give me the long zipper, very visible on the outer leg - well, I am totally in love. The jeans are made of a heavier denim, so no spandex or jegging here. They have just the right amount of stretch without being too stretchy.
These James jeans are truly unique and eye catching, I can tell you that! Try pairing them with a short tuxedo jacket and pink pointy pumps for your night out. During the day I suggest you bottom out the cuffs on a pair of silver ASH wedge sneakers and a very sexy top and you will stand out even in a midtown New York crowd!

Hayden Panettiere and yours truly (MEEE!!) - we were both in Munich at the same time and - YAY - we were both wearing our J Brands!! What a cool coincidence, right! Hayden was attending a special screening of "Nashville", wearing J Brand's 915 Super Skinny in Coated Stealth, and I was checking out denim stores wearing my be-looooved J Brand's leather jeans in forest!
I have noticed that lately Jennifer Garner has been wearing more edgy and fun jeans - hurray! Like, she really rocks these J Brand babies, the Aidan Boy-Fit Jean in Lakespur. But again, as I always "preach", do pretty please NOT wear flip flops, unless you are at the beach! Even the most edgy jeans lose their "edge" out in the city when an admirer's eye follows down your leg and ends up at a flip-floppy pair of flip flops. :-(
