Will.i.am To Launch i.am Antik Denim

will1.jpg
Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas and Blue Holdings Inc have announced that they have entered into a collaborative partnership to create "i.am Antik", an international premium lifestyle denim brand. The thought of yet another celebrity denim brand in an already overcrowded marketplace is hardly the most exciting of news, however at least the preposterously punctuated Will.i.am has a background in fashion having attended the Fashion Institute of Design in Los Angeles.

Stella McCartney vs Notify Jeans

chloe1.jpg
Gucci Group are threatening to ditch both Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney if they don't produce profits this year. Which has resulted in both designers entering into collaborations with well known retailers to enhance their profiles. Stella McCartney has recently announced that she is to team up with Notify Jeans to create a denim collection for Summer 2008. The jeans that Stella created for Chloe were popular with models like Kate Moss (see above) and Daria Werbowy (see below) so it will be interesting to see the results of this new collaboration.

Lindsay Lohan in Rich & Skinny Jeans

Rich & Skinny is a denim brand I did not know too much about until recently when I was doing some research on colored jeans. The company was founded by Michael Glasser co-founder of 7 For All Mankind and Citizens of Humanity and Joie Rucker founder of Joie Clothes. They do jeans in some great colors such as motley blue, ramone red, pink grapefruit and emerald (see below). Lindsay Lohan is also a recent convert - here she wearing a pair of Rich & Skinny Sleak jeans in silver.

Dior Homme Jeans - Not Just For Men

dior1.jpg
There aren't many denim brands able to produce a pair of jeans that fit equally well on both men and women. For obvious reasons jeans that are cut to suit one sex usually don't look so good on the other. Dior Homme Jeans however have managed to produce a line of modern slim fitting men's jeans that can be worn by either sex as demonstrated by celebrity fans such as model Natalia Vodianova and actor Jude Law. Designer Hedi Slimane left Dior Homme this March to develop his own brand and it will be interesting to see whether Hedi Slimane Jeans are able to attract such a unisex fanbase.
