Connie Style - Siwy Alexa Denim Shorts
Hi Everyone! I am back with another review for you, this time I am writing about a pair of Siwy 'Alexa Sudden Love' denim shorts. I was excited to receive this pair of Siwy's as I have heard so many good things about this brand, and I can tell you now that they certainly live up to their hype. When putting these on the first thing that struck me was the beautifully soft denim. They are a 98% cotton and 2% elastane mix and they are so incredibly comfortable to wear I was immediately converted.
The fabric mix means they fit beautifully without having too much stretch and having a super soft finish which makes them so easy to wear. These are a size 25 and I would say they fit a tiny bit large, perhaps you can afford to go a size down from your usual jean size. I could quite easily wear these low on the hip without the waistband cutting in whatsoever.
I think the main positive point for these shorts is that they are so flattering for your backside. The design and positioning of the pockets gives you a lift and creates a really great shape and after trying these on my flat mates were full of compliments on how good they looked.
A slightly strange detail to these shorts is the side zipper which actual unzips pretty much all the way! Perhaps this is a feature for the more daring ladies out there, but Its not really something I would be doing, maybe its more of an aesthetic zip rather than functional for any reason. There is also some great fraying detail to the hemlines, perhaps a little overdone in my honest opinion but if you are looking for a distressed cut off style then these are perfect for that look.
The colour and wash of these is really great in a medium blue shade which seems to work for most looks and outfits. I teamed these with a white blouse and corset effect belt and wore some plain black tights underneath (not brave enough to go for the full on hot pants look, these are quite short shorts!). These would look equally great with bare legs and gladiator sandals on the beach!
My first impression of Siwy as a brand has definitely been a good one as I would say these are some of the best cut shorts I have tried on in a while and I would definitely be tempted to try on their other styles after wearing these.
If you would like to see some more of these shorts with the full outfit take a look at my fashion & photography blog: www.constance-victoria.blogspot.com.

Lindsay Lohan In Short Short Denim Shorts
And the award for the shortest denim shorts goes to... Lindsay Lohan. I would love to be able to tell you what brand they are, but seeing as there is only couple of inches of denim on display it doesn't give me much to work with.

Mischa Barton in Shredded Denim Shorts
In some universe out there, apparently Mischa Barton is a fashion icon. I saw her one time on some Brit fashion show and they were having her talk (in her totally weird and affected voice) about her "like totallleee amaaaaaaaaay-ziiinnnn and yuuuunique style". I did not see it then and I certainly don't see it now... though all of the pieces of this outfit could work if styled correctly. Anyway... Mischa is sporting vintage shredded Levi's denim here.
