Elegance Lies in Simplicity
I came upon this photo spread randomly looking at some of my favorite European blogs a bit back. I tried to identify its origins but came up empty (so please do comment if you know) that said, I think it's worthy of posting as it is beautifully shot and casually stunning. Featuring a plethora of denim and a stunning model (albeit a very thin model) it speaks to the title of this entry as elegance does lie in simplicity. I've been working on my photography skills of late and I will definitely draw inspiration in the future from this shoot both in terms of layout and dress.
Tatler Magazine is Street Smart
Tatler Magazine takes London's top models and has them pick their favorites from top designers showing us what will be in just around the corner. Whether it's Tali Lennox in denim by Lenox and fur (a favorite look of mine at the moment), Portia Freeman looking gorgeously peroxided to perfection (and wearing her own clothes kind of flawless) or Emily Hope in a trifecta of sequins, acid wash denim by H&M and studded boots this is a editorial to inspire.
Guess Jeans Spring/Summer 2010
Last week in Los Angeles, Guess and Lucky Magazine joined forces to support Children's Action Network to help thousands of foster children living in the United States. November happens to be National Foster Care Month and since my Mom has been a long supporter of foster care and adoption issues I was more than happy to go and also cover the story. Perspective being everything, there are over 350,000 children living in foster care in the United States and over 129,000 of those children are available to be adopted. Donned in Guess I had fun on the red carpet wearing their military denim jacket that I literally saw being pulled off the racks and enjoyed meeting the Guess PR team. I'm a huge fan of Guess ad campaigns, they have historically set the bar going back many years when they featured Claudia Schiffer as the face of the brand. Always sexy with a touch of rocker chick, the 2009 Fall/Winter campaign was one of my all time favorites (I posted the behind the scenes video below). The Spring/Summer 2010 collection features sexy skinny jeans and a touch of retro styling and we have a glimpse of the clothes (keep an eye out for the campaign). Keeping pace with the current trend of distressed denim and washes the new denim collection promises to keep you looking good no matter what you wear with it.
Trendspotting - Denim & Leather
Model Dree Hemingway who is the face of Mango's upcoming catalog, was in Barcelona for the brands Spring 2010 fashion show wearing jeans with leather on the legs. This trend has been seen on the streets a bit and although it's bound to be pricey as it hits the high end stores we've seen motorcycle jean trend take off with such fans as Rihanna this seems like a natural progression in the denim market.
Jamie Campbell Bower in Wonderland Magazine
Jamie Campbell Bower, my favorite in the about to open, Twilight: New Moon movies is featured on the pages of Wonderland Magazine wearing double denim and his own take on style in jeans. I'm not team Pattinson or Lautner but I certainly am team Campbell Bower and will be showing up opening night to see him in Twilight! (And no one should be too freaked out I'm not a cougar, I'm 15).
