Hi everyone. Susan here from StylePosts. I've been anxiously awaiting the arrival of these jeans ever since I saw a glimpse of them in some retail photo shoots for this season. I fell in love with J Brand's Aoki jeans in the Obsessed wash as seen on Katherine Heigl, and they've literally been one of my all time favorite jeans ever since. So I was really excited to see J Brand come out with new washes in this cut, particularly interesting washes such as these. These are J Brand's Aoki Jeans in Vintage Star.

The Aoki jean is a boyfriend style with a tighter fit. I realize that sounds ironic, but somehow J Brand is able to make the two styles come together in a way that really works. I love these jeans! They're not super fitted like skinny jeans. Rather, they're tight with a slight relaxed fit along the thighs and calves, allowing these jeans to feel as comfortable as most boyfriend jeans often do. However because of the tighter fit, they allow the rear to look more flattering, as boyfriend jeans often do not (in my experience).

The inseam is 27 ½ inches, which I chose to roll up three times giving them a 24 inch inseam. The leg opening is 11 inches, allowing you to wear them uncuffed as well which looks just as great. Either way, they're a cropped jean and perfect for the spring and summer ahead. And the length works for just about any height. So they can be worn at mid calf for you taller gals or as a cropped jean for you petite ones. Either way, they look great. The rise measurement is at a comfortable 7 ½ inches. The style is a classic 5 pocket style with flattering, rear-lifting back pockets, which is classic of J Brand.

The wash is called Vintage Star, which is a medium blue wash with dark blue faded stars of different sizes throughout the jeans. The wash on these is adorable and so much fun to wear. And because the color is still blue throughout, they go with just about any color top and shoes.
Washing instructions are: Wash inside out in cold water, do not bleach, tumble dry low, remove promptly, do not iron.

Katherine Heigl was spotted carrying in her new daughter Adalaide to the Beverly Hills Montage for lunch on Wednesday. The actress looked sexy on her afternoon out wearing Henry & Belle Super Skinny Ankle in Cobalt, a button up white blouse and strappy black heels as she toted made her way in to grab a bite to eat with her mom.

It's nice to see that some brands actually show us different clothes, wearable AND fashionable clothes that are not aimed solely at teenagers! Sanctuary is the brand I speak of!

I love those skirts! What a nice change from all those too-tight micro-minis we have seen in seasons past. Their flare jeans have very nicely done pocket details and a beautiful summery-looking bleached wash. Also I very much like the way they are pairing their shorts with blouses and blazers or jackets, which gives them a much more sophisticated look. I am somehow so over pairing shorts and tees - I really think you should look like as if you give some thoughts to what you are wearing and not as if you just put on the first thing you found in your closet.

On May 23rd, American Eagle Outfitters revealed that Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell is among the 15 stars featured in American Eagle's Fall 2012 "Live Your Life" ad campaign.

The campaign emphasizes the brand's focus on individual style and truly living your life in American Eagle denim. In these behind-the-scenes photos, Shay showcases how she "Lives Her Life" in American Eagle's new Skinny Kick jeans, debuting in the fall. Part skinny and part flared, American Eagle introduces the Skinny Kick jean, combining the best of both denim worlds. Skinny from hip to knee with a "kick" leg opening.

Personally, I love these style of jeans. They are usually shorter than the regular flares (a MUST for me) and they are actually skinnies with a leg opening, perfect for wearing with your platforms or high heels.

Men in Black III star, Will Smith was spotted wearing a dark wash pair of 7 For All Mankind Jeans in New York City yesterday. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air looked handsome in a Philadelphia Phillies cap as he made his way around town for promotional appearances for his new movie.

Stepping out of her fierce new Porsche Panamera S Hybrid (gah..... *tongue wagging!*), Gwen Stefani arrived at a house in Los Angeles in the afternoon. The "No Doubt" singer looked fab in a pair of Paige Denim Edgemont Ultra Skinny Jeans in Deco Rose paired with a black fedora and open-toed booties.

Love Met Jeans? So does Kylie! Pop singer Kylie Minogue tweeted a picture of herself (as seen above) enjoying a day out in London wearing the Met X-Winona jeans from the Italian premium denim's Spring-Summer 2012 collection.

Interesting, the first brand to show its Spring/Summer 2013 collection here on Denimology is a German brand, Alberto, founded in 1922! I love the dandy look of these models. And YAY, flower prints for guys! Means that you don't have to borrow your girlfriend's jeans anymore!! Here is what the brand tells us about its collection:

"The jeans style world is dominated by a summery feeling and pleasantly soft fabrics. Elegant and relaxed rather than robust and heavy. Brighter and lighter, the jeans trend is leaning towards linen. One of the things I most love about "doing" denim is meeting a person that "does" denim as well. By this I mean, someone who is as passionate and involved and deeply in love with denim as I am. Someone who really cares about what he is doing and does not just see denim as something to make a quick buck with. I think I met a soulmate in Vincent Flumiani, designer of SINCLAIR. He shows his passion for denim and women through his creations, and he tells us what he perceives of what type of woman should wear what kind of jeans.

Q:. What do a person's jeans say about them?

A: Jeans are a well-told story. A creative retelling of your--how shall we say--ins and outs.
Jeans are autobiography. If you let jeans merely hide secrets, they will never get around to telling them, and that is where your story begins. Your story is more than legs and swagger, hips and hikes. More than physical. Your story is the truth you carry and your jeans - chip away at this.

The meaning of jeans is not fixed--as in, "Wear these jeans and you will exude confidence." No, they are a peculiar alphabet of beauty, each stitch and curve speaks a new language unique to you. The way you wear them changes, and with it, the universe. It is shifting; with your mood, your gait, your complementary pieces. We're excited to welcome Chloe Moretz to Denimology as she makes her first appearance here.

Chloe was spotted arriving at LAX airport wearing J Brand 835 Mid-Rise Capri Baroque Print in Plum to catch a flight to South Korea for Calvin Klein International's multibrand event.

ADenim is another German brand that is already showing its S/S 2013 collection. ADenim has experimented extensively with denim and with various treatments. All in all they have 27 different kinds of washes. Among the highlights of this Spring 2013 collection are light bleached variations, white denims and light selvedge jeans in a vintage wash. Dark jeans certainly don't vanish either in the Spring/Summer season. One example of this is a black-black in various washes. Another example is a raw item which for the first time ever features an unwashed red selvedge made of Italian denim. None of their jeans come into contact with a single drop of water while they are being made.

ADenim has also developed a brilliant new concept, Roof-destroyed denim. I will tell you more about this as soon as they release the images.

Gwen Stefani took her sons Kingston and Zuma to a birthday party in Marina Del Rey last weekend. The fashionable star wore a white wife beater and her signature red lipstick with a pair of white print Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere Jeans with a black blazer.
