Evisu Launches Kizzu Kids Denim Collection

As far as I am concerned it's never too young to get into denim. And it looks like Evisu agree with me because they have launched Kizzu, a range of denim for kids who are too cool for school.

Self Edge - New York Times Profile

San Franciso's specialist denim store Self Edge was profiled in the New York Times last week. According to owner Kiya Babzani the jeans he sells are “are for people who enjoy fine Scotch, artisan cheeses, natural hand-carved leather wallets, fine art and intricate music”. Well, I'm not much of a fan of cheese or fine art but I do like his jeans which include Japanese brands such as Flat Head and Iron Heart that are unavailable anywhere else in the US.

Mackdaddy x Rocksmith Denim

Self Edge x Sugar Cane = SEXSC02

Japanese denim label Sugarcane who are famous for producing vintage influenced jeans have collaborated with US specialist denim store Self Edge to produce their first ever slim cut jean. The jeans are made from 14.5 ounce double ring-spun raw unsanforized Japanese selvedge denim and feature houndstooth fabric pocket bags and an ostrich skin leather tag. If you want to get your hands on a pair of these, they will cost £295 (incl. shipping) from Self Edge where they go on sale on Saturday 20th Oct.

The Flat Head Suit

Now here is something for the real denimistas out there. When Kiya Babzani (who is the owner of specialist denim store SelfEdge in San Francisco) got married recently he wore a denim suit made of Flat Head's 3XXX denim. The material was brought over to San Francisco from Japan and given to a local tailor who turned it into a slimmed down version of 1940s style suit. The end result is a totally unique wedding outfit that is cooler than a polar bear's nuts in winter.

Untold MGLR Denim

Untold is a Japanese Denim label that I hadn't heard of before. Apparently they will soon be releasing MGLR Denim (shown above) which are a pretty simple pair of raw denim jeans featuring a distinctive white line along the bottom of the waistband. (Source: Hypebeast)
