Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH07 - BORN TUFF

ih_indigo_01_web.jpg

My current favourite pair of jeans were produced by specialist denim store Self Edge in collaboration with Japanese brand Dry Bones. So I was very interested to hear about their new collaboration with another manufacturer of quality selvedge denim - Ironheart. The Self Edge x Iron Heart = SEXIH07 jeans are heavyweight unsanforized denim which should age with extreme contrast and great character. They come in indigo and overdyed black and will be available online and in Self Edge's stores in San Francisco and New York from Dec 5th. I think these jeans will be my Xmas present to myself this year.

Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Co. Jeans

dickies.jpg

Dickies may have been making workwear for nearly a century but unless you are a skaterboarder or a member of Limp Bizkit you probably haven't been wearing their jeans of late. Well, that may be about to change because their soon to be released California jeans are made from quality selvedge denim, woven on vintage shuttle looms in Japan. To celebrate the vintage nature of the jeans they will be branded as Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Co which was the original name of the company back in 1922.

Unused Fall/Winter 2009 Lookbook

I am loving the Fall/Winter lookbook from Japanese brand Unused, not only do the jeans look pretty good but they have also chosen the interesting approach of using an old dude to model the clothes instead of the usual skinny hip young things.

History of the Evisu Seagull

evisu_seagull_pockets_LJ11.jpg

We are excited about the new evolution of Evisu now that new CEO/Creative Director Scott Morrison has taken over the brand. Previously of Paper Denim & Cloth and Earnest Sewn, known for classic jeans that are amazingly soft and comfortable with incredible washes, Scott is sure to do more amazing work with Evisu. We spotted this history of the Evisu online and thought we'd share it with our readers.

Designer Hidehiko Yamane started Evisu in 1991 in Osaka, Japan and mimicked Levi's Red Tab 501XX. He personally hand painted his Seagull logo on every pair. What we love is that Scott Morrison has taken the famous seagull logo and distressed it perfectly, giving the pockets a worn in, not-too-subtle but not-too-eye-popping either look. Can't wait to see more!
