Savannah Style - Frankie B. BFF Leggings
My name is Savannah, I'm a 15 year old sophomore in high school, I live in Los Angeles and have been writing for Denimology for over a year. I absolutely love fashion and hope one day to be able to pursue it as a career. I'm going to be writing a regular column here where I take a look at and try out the newest denim and explore the upcoming trends.
The denim legging (or jegging) trend which was so big at the end of last year looks set to continue well into 2010, so I was really excited when I got a pair of Frankie B. Denim Leggings in Swan Blue! I wanted these because they are lightweight and have the perfect amount of lycra making them feel like a pair of jeans I've had for years. They are so soft, comfortable and easy to wear with everything from over-the-knee boots (one of my favorite trends) to high-tops, the clean lines make my legs look long and the unadorned back pocket is great because I can wear them with different looks and don't feel like it's noticeable I'm wearing the same jean over and over.
I've worn these jeans so much since I got them and even wear them during my P.E. elective which is Pilates, they are truly like a cotton legging and are that comfortable! These Frankie B. BFF Leggings run around $143 and I know I will be getting my money's worth from them as they can be worn in cool weather with boots or during the summer they will be great with a light top and flip flops.
I'm wearing them here with a pair of Thomas Wylde over-the-knee boots that I had wanted for the longest time and was thrilled beyond belief that my Mom (Yes I said Mom, I'm 15) was able to pick me up a pair at the TW sample sale (savings: a cool $1,100).
As for my capulet, I'm big on vintage. My Dad bought me this to-die-for vintage mink on Etsy for a bargain. I just love wearing it regardless of the Los Angeles weather that continues to be in the 70's during the day (though it does cool off at night).
Doing this regular piece for Denimology is exciting for me, I look forward to trying out new trends and touching base with some of the big brands on what is popular now and new looks and styles. Living in Los Angeles is great for many reasons we have a large majority of the denim brands manufacturing here and writing for Denimology has been a great opportunity for me to meet so many people who have encouraged me to pursue my dreams! I will be doing these features every two weeks and thank everyone who supports and encourages this budding fashionista!

Stephanie Pratt in Rag & Bone Denim Leggings

When I go to NYC for Coterie next month (to bring you back the word on all the latest trends) I will definitely be hitting Barney's to buy a pair of these. I love Rag & Bone and Barney's has a great selection.
Dish Jeggings Get Colorful!
This past October, Vancouver based denim line Dish Jeans took their Paris Skinny Jean and super slimmed it; thus producing their new Indigo Rinse Legging Jean. This year, Dish is adding more flavor to their denim legging by adding a variety of washes and colors to their new star player.
- This month Dish introduced their formal denim legging in Black Rinse.
- In February, a hand sanded mid-grey wash called Rimini.
- March brings a mottled powder blue with peek-a-boo indigo called Pyramide.
- April enters a frosted blue acid wash marbled with indigo called Babylone.
Dish Jeans plan to add new leg treatments, design details, decorative seams and stitching to their new line of jeggings as well! So watch this space for updates!
