Ijin Irregular Series Jeans & Ant Rivets

ij1%20.jpg
It's always good to see someone trying something a little different. The jeans above are from Ijin Material and feature sewn rivets in the form of worker ants. These are actual functional rivets which have been sewn on using industrial riveting machines. If you check out the ants on the back pocket you will see that they actually appear as if they have been sat on and squashed - now that's what I call attention to detail.

Iron Army Spring/Summer 2008 Campaign

ia1.jpg
Here's a first look at the new Spring/Summer 2008 campaign photos from the Iron Army. This denim label was started a couple of years ago by two Canadians who were buying thrift store jeans and then taking them apart and remaking them into something they liked. Soon the started manufacturing their own jeans and now they are based in LA and their jeans are stocked by Barney's and Ron Herman. Anyone that has bought a pair of Iron Army jeans is invited to send in their photos and they will be featured on their website as part of the ever-expanding Iron Army.

Beware Of Fake Red Monkey Company Jeans

Fake RMC Red Monkey Jeans

Regular readers of this site may remember that I posted a couple of news items relating to Red Monkey Ganga Jean (see above) and Wu Tang Jeans (see below). Well it turns out that although these jeans are being sold by a reputable store they are both fakes. Confirmation of this comes from the designer himself - Martin Ksohoh who you can see below giving these crappy fake jeans the thumbs down. Here are some tips of what to look out for when purchasing RMC Red Monkey Jeans:
  1. Must have leather patch, not pvc on waist band.
  2. Must have individual laser cut serial numbers on the patch.
  3. Must be made in Hong Kong.
  4. Selvedge must be red and green and not just red
  5. Denim must be made out of unbleached cotton (inside has yellowish tint) and not bleached cotton (inside is whitesh or blue white colour).
  6. Any questions contact the owners 1001@1001original.com, rmcjapan@jupiter.ocn.ne.jp or sales@rmcjeans.co.uk
Alternatively, to be sure that you are getting genuine RMC Jeans, make sure you buy them from Togged.com
