Self Edge - New York Times Profile

se1.jpg
San Franciso's specialist denim store Self Edge was profiled in the New York Times last week. According to owner Kiya Babzani the jeans he sells are “are for people who enjoy fine Scotch, artisan cheeses, natural hand-carved leather wallets, fine art and intricate music”. Well, I'm not much of a fan of cheese or fine art but I do like his jeans which include Japanese brands such as Flat Head and Iron Heart that are unavailable anywhere else in the US.

Back To Black Denim

bl4.jpg
This year denim has appeared in every colour of the rainbow, but one shade that has been absent is black, which maybe to do with it's gothy/heavy metal type associations. Anyway I think that it's time the black denim was rehabilitated back into society. As the candid street-style photos (courtesy of Jeanswear) show, it is possible to wear black denim and not look like a moody teenager.

Men.Style.Com Denim Hotlist

st4.jpg
Men.Style.Com has created a interactive top 10 of the best in men's denim. They have selected their favourite jeans (Dior, Earnest Sewn, APC, Levi's, etc) and then the actual position in the Top 10 is decided by their readers who can give each pair the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down". The No 1 position is currently held by Helmut Lang.

Devilock x CLOT x Levi's 501

lv4.jpg
Another collaboration, this time from Asian brands Devilock and CLOT and Levi's. This is one of the least inspiring collaborations I have seen recently, all they seem to have done is sewn some patches onto a ripped up pair of Levi's.
