Elena Style - My Visit To Lucky Brand Jeans

HP 10.28.07.jpg

Recently I participated in a very interesting and exciting event organized by Lucky Brand Jeans; the purpose was to give denim bloggers a clear understanding of the creative and production processes for our most beloved wardrobe staple, jeans! The day started with a fitting with the Lucky Brand "Denim Guru" himself, VP of Design Nicolas Peyrache (shown below), continued with a tour of the Jean Mart Sewing Factory and ended at the Blue River Denim Wash House.

To be honest, for me this experience was a re-discovery of Lucky Brand Jeans and after this day I now have a completely new vision and respect for it, here's why.

First of all, Lucky Brand offers a wide range of great and unique fits (Slim, Curvy, Easy, Relaxed and Straight - each in a 2-3 variations); everyone can easily find at least a few that will be perfect for them, their body type and life-style. What I can definitely say is that every pair of jeans I tried on fit me beautifully! No surprise considering the tremendous amount of time and effort they put into developing new fits and improving Lucky Brand's existing ones. Countless fittings, corrections and enhancements under the strict supervision of Nico happen before the silhouette is finalized and presented to the customer. And speaking of presentation, knowledgeable sales associates are trained and prepared by the corporate team of merchandisers and designers to not only answer your questions but to also make helpful suggestions and give you a high level of denim expertise.

Every pair of Lucky Brand Jeans is not only technically perfected but also designed in response to market demand, current fashion and customer needs. Although they are highly focused on creating beautiful and classic indigo pieces, Lucky Brand still doesn't miss out on the latest trends. So "hot" high-rise, novelty prints and bright colors are all incorporated into Lucky's latest collection. Aren't those python, leopard and floral jeans gorgeous!?!? Want to try a preppy cigarette silhouette? They have that too!

With all of that said I have to mention that great attention is paid to their fabric choices. Great recovery and a soft velvety hand feel are the main characteristics of Lucky Brand denim which combine to give you a fashionable look with ultimate comfort.

I was both very impressed and somewhat surprised by my "Lucky Day" experience- I didn't expect Lucky Brand to be so cool, hip and modern, so versatile and different and I didn't expect to find so much product that I loved! My previous image of Lucky Brand as Classic Americana with a Bohemian Vibe has slowly but surely disappeared from my head. I have found my own "Lucky" jeans (review is coming next week, but you can see a sneak peak me modelling their Charlie Skinny jeans below ) and you will too; check them out and re-discover them again for yourself!

P.S. Thanks again to Melissa Cabot, VP of Marketing, and Nico Peyrache, VP of Denim Design, for organizing an amazing denim tour!

DenimHabit.com Opens Online Store

website.jpg

A new denim website with a name like DenimHabit.com invites lots of cheesy puns, but I am going to resist temptation and focus on their offering rather that trying to squeeze in some kind of lame word play. So who are they and what are they doing? Well DenimHabit is a rapidly expanding chain of specialist denim boutiques in the North Eastern USA, they have opened six stores in the last 12 months and now they have just launched their website. As the name suggests they are focused on denim and are stock everyone from Current/Elliott to J Brand, Hudson to Paige and many more besides. So if you are addicted to denim (sorry I just had to do it) then you can get your fix (oops I can't help myself) at DenimHabit.com.

New Store Opening - S22 By Singer22

NewStore16.jpg

Singer22 is one of our favourite online retailers, not just because they are regular advertisers but because they always seem to stock the hottest new denim before anyone else. It's like they have a sixth sense for whatever the next big trend is going to be. Anyway, you may not be aware but Singer22 aren't just an online store, they have a regular old fashioned bricks and mortar operation which is also expanding. Just this week they opened their second store S22 By Singer which is also the first of their stores to sell a full selection of both mens and womenswear. If you are lucky enough to live in Long Island and are looking for somewhere to go shopping on Black Friday then you can check out the store by popping along to S22 By Singer22, 11 Old Westbury Road, East Hills, NY 11577.

Get Personalized, Custom Fit Jeans by Acustom

fittedfashion.jpg

Surely we are all familiar with body-scanning systems that take measurements for personalized clothing like Bodymetrics and Intellifit.

There is a new company called Fitted Fashion where each client gets scanned to obtain their precise measurements, and after the process, the company makes each client one or more pairs of custom-fit jeans, and mails the jeans to their home. Fitted Fashion's line of jeans is called Acustom. Acustom jeans are set to retail at the same cost as high-end, off-the-rack jeans - around US$160 to $180 a pair.

The first Fitted Fashion design studio should be opening early next year, in New York City's Soho district.

"Our goal is to revolutionize custom fit," said Motlagh. "And to become a platform to enable your favorite brands and designers to make custom clothes specifically for you."
