New York Fashion Week - Backstage & About

I not only love the clothes that appear on the runway, but find the behind-the-scenes and fashion worn to the shows to be equally as fascinating. Denim is such a huge part of a chic wardrobe, no matter how you wear it or who you are. For those who minimize the fleeting fancy of Fashion Week, a little research reminded me that last year the two annual Fashion Weeks in New York drew 232,000 attendees, generated $466 million in direct visitor spending, and resulted in an overall economic impact on New York City of $773 million. New York City's fashion industry provides 175,000 jobs, $1.6 billion in annual tax revenue and $10 billion in total wages. So as we now move on the London Fashion Week and obsessing over the runway looks I think it's important to appreciate the economic benefits which are derived from these events, no matter where they occur.

Denim & Thigh High Boots

Now that summer is on the way out (at least in my part of the world) thoughts inevitably turn to the winter wardrobe and for those of you who like to be at the front of new trends you could do a lot worse that taking some inspiration from Caroline who has paired some achingly-hip thigh boots with skinny jeans from Acne. This is not a look for the faint-hearted but if you have the legs to pull it off you will certainly turn heads. (Source: caroline.feber.se)

Street Style Trend - Denim & Mesh

Following on from last week's post about Siwy's striking new jeans which come complete with a daring mesh panel, here is further evidence of an emerging trend.
