Links á la Mode: The IFB Weekly Roundup
As I was selecting my posts for this weeks Links A La Mode, I realized how important it is to have attractive and original images in your posts. I noticed that I would open a post and close it promptly if the images looked rather..... what's the word... meh.
Images Are The Main Course -- A great image will draw in your reader. The image might be beautiful, odd, heartwarming, instructive or just curiosity-provoking, so long as it keeps the reader wanting to read your post.
Don't Forget To Use an Image -- It's better to use a generic image than no image at all but ultimately your image should represent what the subject of your post is about.
High Quality Images Are Best -- We've all heard the saying "Pictures speak a thousand words", but in the blogging world they speak even more. Adding HQ pictures to a blog post will visually stimulate your readers and help them identify with you, the writer.
Resize Your Images -- While images can make your blog looked polished and professional, having images that hang over into the margins or that are cut off is sloppy blogging.

Joe's Jeans Sandals
It's not often that I ache to my core for a pair of shoes, let alone an entire range of shoes. Thanks to Joe's Jeans for giving me this new need (like air to your lungs) to buy every single wedge from this line of shoes. I am a HUGE fan of the flat wedge trend which will be popular during this 70's denim revival. And all of these shoes will fit in perfectly. My personal favorites are the Briggs Suede Wedge Sandals (above) and the Bliss Platform Wedge Sandals.
Guess - Open Their New Flagship On 5th Avenue, NYC
American lifestyle brand, GUESS opened the doors to its largest flagship location in the world on New York City's Fifth Avenue. Surrounded by celebrities, canapés and champagne, Jessie and I had the opportunity to check out this fabulous store together on opening night. The massive store offered escalators, cozy furniture settings and denim worked into each of the many beautiful displays around the store. Selvedge denim for the guys in washes ranging from raw denim to bleached-destructed. The girl's denim was mixed with lots of laces and crystals. Usually I find this type of girly garb too frilly for my taste, but somehow with Guess it was just right.
Meeting PRPS Designer Donwan Harrell Coterie NYC
Today at Coterie, I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to the designers and CEO's of quite a few very cool denim brands.
I was most excited to meet Donwan Harrell, designer and owner of PRPS and his adorable wife, Jahayra. Thankfully the couple was ready to pose for some pictures for Denimology. We'll be telling you soon about their new line, called PRPS GOODS & CO. I'm so excited to post these images, because we're always so curious about who's behind those brands that we hear and talk about all the time.
Pictured above is Donwan and his wife. She fiercely supports and encourages him in his work while she takes care of their four kids.
Below you can see Donwan wearing his favorite jacket which is decorated with all the patches he has collected. Donwan says he won't be selling this one-of-a-kind jacket to anyone either :(
