Rihanna In Red, White + Blue Jeans
Def Jam princess, Rihanna is spotted hard at work on the Emerald Isle. The singer was spotted filming her We Found Love music video in Northern Ireland. She looked super sexy in her patriotic, custom denim pieces, working her musical magic for the cameras.
Christina Milian In Levi's
Actress and singer Christina Milian was snapped looking rather conservative on the red carpet at the premiere of Cirque Du Soleil's Iris in Hollywood last week. Instead of the usual short, tight and revealing outfits that she is normally seen in she was photographed wearing a rather demure ivory blouse and a pair of cuffed Levi's.
Rihanna In Vintage Levi's
One of the perks of being a global celeb is that you get to travel the world and see some amazing places. One of the cruel twists of fates however is that when you visit these places you are destined to be followed by thousands of people wanting to take your photo on their cameraphone. This would drive me absolutely round the bend, but then luckily I am not a global celeb. Rihanna on the other hand is and seems to be taking it all in her stride. She was snapped wearing a pair of vintage Levi's denim shorts as she and a massive crowd of her fans decided to check out the Christ of Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro last week.
Brittany Curran In DL1961 Jeans
Last week Teen Vogue held its annual Young Hollywood Party which is always a hot ticket for young actors and actresses. Being invited is a sign that your career is on the up and one of the actresses that got the nod was Brittany Curran, who was snapped on the red carpet wearing a pair of DL1961 Jeans.
Jen Style - Juicy Couture Colored Rolled Jean
Hey darlings! I have had a great week because I recently found out that I won Best Local Fashion Blogger for Creative Loafing Tampa Bay's Best of The Bay 2011. It feels awesome to be recognized by my own community! My blog started as a hobby in May 2010 and has given me so many amazing opportunities. The most rewarding part of my blog is knowing that I've inspired my readers to experiment with fashion and give vintage and thrift shopping a shot!
Last week I reviewed a pair of Juicy Couture Trouser Jeans, which I loved! This week I have a pair of 5 pocket skinny jeans to review, that are also by Juicy Couture. They are the Juicy Couture Colored Rolled Jean in "Prep Cool". I am a huge fan of bright colored jeans. They can really liven up your look, and this bright orange pair just screams for attention. The orange hue is so bright, it's practically neon!
I love color-blocking, and these jeans would be so perfect for just that, but I decided to pair them with a neutral gray shirt to really make the jeans stand out. I love that these skinny jeans are cropped. They look great rolled up or down, but I prefer the rolled up look! I wore these jeans to work (pretty daring for someone that works in an office environment where everyone dresses business casual huh?), but I received a lot of great compliments. These jeans look so chic when paired with a crisp white blazer.
I usually flock towards denim that has a nice stretch to it. I'm a girl with hips, so I like to slip a pair of jeans on with ease. This pair were very fitted, but they did stretch out nicely and I ended up really digging them. They are true to size. I typically wear a size 27, and these fit nicely. They are made of 98% cotton and 2% polyester. The denim feels very classic... nice and thick. It's nice to stray away from jeans that contain a ton of stretch. It almost brings you back to the original denim. Most of the jeans today are made of thinner material. Though it may be more comfortable, it's nice to have an array of different styles and types of jean in your closet.
Just like the Juicy Couture Trouser Jeans I reviewed last week, I really liked how Juicy Couture kept the details minimal on this pair of jeans. There aren't any patches or crazy stitching, the gold JC button closure is a nice touch. In fact I really like how the gold hardware stands out on the bright denim. I think other brands could really take note from Juicy Couture. It's a nice change from silver hardware.
Overall I'm really digging these jeans. I can dress them up or down, and wear them through multiple seasons. Just because we are coming into fall doesn't mean that we should stop wearing color. In fact, a lot of designers have fall collections that are far from drab... just full of color! If you're a fan of colored denim and are looking for a pair with a reasonable price and great quality, look no further than this pair from Juicy Couture. Not feeling the bright orange hue, but like the style of the jean? Check out the other three colors that Juicy Couture has to offer for this style (Sunnycroft, Gilded Rose, and Chrysanthe).
